*VETERINARY REQUIREMENTS
Age at Import: Cats and Dogs must be at least 3 months
Identification/Microchip: Not required for import but ISO microchip is preferred.
Rabies: Rabies vaccine must be more than 30 days and less than one year before import into Vietnam. Rabies vaccine valid for 3 years is acceptable.
Restrictions: All breeds allowed.
Blood Tests: Not applicable.
Treatments: Not applicable.
Vaccinations: Rabies: at least one month before import to Vietnam - DHPP / FVRCP: at least one month before import to Vietnam

*DOCUMENTATION
CITES: All CITES animals need an import permit from the Government besides the CITES import document.
Health Certificate: Government health certificate from the export country must be valid when the dogs & cats arrive in Vietnam.
Import Permit: Import permit is not required for 1 or 2 pets arriving on 1 Air Way Bill (cargo) or under 1 person (excess baggage)
Import permit is required for 3 or more pets arriving on 1 Air Way Bill or under 1 person. Import permit can only be applied in Hanoi. The process to apply for import permit in Hanoi is very complicated and takes a lot of time. Lead time is at least 4 weeks or more (no fixed turnaround time).
Import license is required for 1 or 2 pets arriving in Vietnam on 1 Air Way Bill or under 1 person and Import license just issue after Veterinary Inspection completed at Tan Son Nhat or Noi Bai Airport
